Coming to Aberdeen

By Air

Aberdeen can be reached through three main international airports:

1) Aberdeen International Airport is located just six miles from Aberdeen city centre, and is within easy reach of Aberdeenshire. The international airport also has many direct routes to most UK cities as well as many key European destinations. For further information about the destinations you can fly from to Aberdeen, or to book your flight, please visit the Aberdeen International Airport website.
In January 2024, we hope to be able to announce some discounts on air travel.

When you exit the airport through the main exit, the bus stop (Stagecoach Jet Service 727) will be directly to your right and the taxi stand to your left. Note that there is limited availability of taxis at the airport at night; if there is a long line at the taxi stand and few taxis are arriving, then it might be faster to take the bus. Alternatively, you can pre-book a taxi through, e.g., the Rainbowtaxi app.

2) Edinburgh Airport (with train, car, or bus connection see below; approximately 2.5/3 hours from there to Aberdeen)

3) Glasgow Airport (with train, car, or bus connection see below; approximately 2.5/3 hours from there to Aberdeen)

From Edinburgh and Glasgow, the train or Megabus are great options to reach Aberdeen. By train, you will travel through one of the most scenic railway journeys in Britain (see more info below).

By Rail

Scotrail provides an express rail service direct to Aberdeen city center from all Scottish cities. For timetables and for booking your train tickets to Aberdeen, visit the Trainline website (or Scotrail and LNER as train operators).

Aberdeen can also be reached overnight from London on the Caledonian Sleeper. Visit the Caledonian Sleeper website for more information about this service.
