European Conference on Visual Perception
25-29 August 2024
Aberdeen, Scotland

Welcome to the 46th European Conference on Visual Perception that will take place in Aberdeen, Scotland from Sunday 25th to Thursday 29th August 2024.

This year, the ECVP will be hosted in the city of Aberdeen (Scotland, UK).
Aberdeen is known as the Granite City as granite is the main construction material of most buildings or, more romantically, as the Silver City as these buildings sparkle in the sunlight. It is Scotland’s third largest city, and it is within easy reach thanks to its own international airport (with regular connections to London, Manchester, Dublin, Copenhagen, and Amsterdam), railway station (Eastcoast mainline from London), and ferry terminal.

The conference features a mixture of keynote lectures, symposia, talks and poster presentations, and tutorials. The social program includes the Welcome Reception, a poster session with associated whisky tasting, Illusion Night, the Conference Dinner (separate registration at an extra cost), and the Farewell Party. This year, we are also introducing Perceptio-Nite (a networking event targeted at students), an exciting series of roundtable discussions during lunchtimes, and a third Keynote Lecture from an early or mid-career researcher (Spotlight in Vision).

In addition, we will be hosting the Visual Science of Art Conference (VSAC, 22-24th of August) at the Old Aberdeen university campus. More information is available at https://2024.vsac.eu/.

Alternatively, if you are (more) interested in translational vision science, you could decide to attend the conference on “Understanding and Enhancing Functional Vision in Daily Life”, taking place on the 23rd of August 2024 at the Radisson Hotel in the heart of Aberdeen. The conference is organised by the OptiVisT European Training network. For more information, visit: https://optivist.eu/functional-vision-conference/.

Submissions of symposium proposals, conference abstracts and Illusion Night contributions are encouraged from researchers at all levels through an open-call process.

We look forward to welcoming you to Aberdeen!
